They sounded better (tighter bass) with the supplied foam, although I always use the silicon for convenience - facilitates removal/replacement. My advise: do not waste your money , go with stock setup. I mentioned this to the guys at Etymõtic and they agreed. By the way, the reason I went to all this trouble was I felt I could use more oomph at the bass end of things and an article written years ago in Stereophile suggested that this would do it. In addition, the mold was uncomfortable. Recently, I had the opportunity to compare the Sennheiser 600s with the ER4Ss. No comparison - I think the 600s sounded VERY wrong! Flabby, muddy bass and way too much of it and slow, inarticulate rooled-off highs. Made me wonder what universe "audiophiles" live in. |
