A pair of Audio Technics TK-33 Elecret Headphones. I made sure they were in working order and was offered $40. I've been trying to find some information about them but didn't find much. Then I read through the Head Wize article about different types of headphones. In there it talks about electret depolarization and to check them every 5 to 10 years. I'm guessing these are 80's vintage and not knowing the previous owner I will have to assume that they have never been replaced. Question: They sound good so far. I've compared them to my Sony 7506 and Grado SR-125 cans. They defiantly sound softer then the others. But not knowing how they are suppose to sound I'm not sure what to think. That "softer" sound you're hearing could be an indication. Does one channel seem brighter than the other? A channel imbalance would be another indication. I once owned the ATH7s. It's a shame that AT is no longer repairing them. Enjoy them as-is. |
