This policy is based on one in use on some other forums:

HeadWize permits only limited commercial posting from those members who already participate in the forums in a non-commercial manner. Sales/service messages must be relevant to this site and of specific interest to other members (eg, headphones and/or other personal audio-related subject matter) and must posted in the Marketplace forum. Commercial postings may not be offered in such a manner as to be construed as an abuse of the privilege.

Group buys should be posted in the Marketplace forum, but a single notice may be placed in one other forum with a link to the Marketplace thread. However, the Marketplace thread is to be the main discussion thread for conducting business.

Members are urged to contact administrators with commercial announcements to be considered for inclusion in the Announcements pages.

Administrators reserve the right to remove any posting for any reason.

Has it been a problm?

The people who would violate the Rule would not read it.

Moderators reserve the right to delete any post for any reason.

Moderators reserve the right to suspend any member for any reason.

If you "abuse" this power, and we don't like it, we are perfectly free to hang on another forum. So you may as well proclaim a dictatorship, then act benignly for the good of the members.

Just play nice, kids, and don't bite the hand that feeds you.

There is no need to throw the baby out with the bathwater.

I don't think we want to see a draconian policy enforced here.

Have I missed any other clichés? :p

I agree with PRR.I believe a poster should have a right to reply, unless of course its abusive, etc. Well,I guess I will see if this gets me banned, deleted. And just because these rules are on other forums doesnt make it right. As the previous poster said, its draconian. It sounds like something coming out of China, we can arrest you for anything, any time, anywere we want for whatever reason.

rod, I don't think that edwood was necessarily saying that the policy posted above was "draconian," but rather that if the situation deteriorates, a truly draconian policy could be implemented. At least I hope that's what he's saying b/c I don't think this policy is all that severe.

OK MR Chuy Moy. Have I got it right? When I first registered I did not know who you were, but now I do and your little amp is famous. I guess the china bit was a little overdramatic. But I think freedom of speech is what drives the internet and I am hoping that you use the new rules with caution. Anyway you have a great day!!
